The symposium will showcase undergraduate research from a variety of disciplines.
On Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research (UGR) will be holding its seventh annual Undergraduate Research Scholars Symposium in the Memorial Student Center.
The symposium will showcase work done by students involved in the LAUNCH Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) thesis program, a program that provides undergraduates with graduate-level experience by allowing them to participate in research, produce a professional document and communicate their findings to a scholarly community.
Both oral and poster presentations will be featured at the symposium. Students can expect to receive constructive feedback about their research projects and presentation skills from faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students who have will serve as active listeners.
The LAUNCH URS Symposium will be divided into morning and afternoon blocks of poster and oral presentation sessions:
Morning Sessions (Oral and Poster):
- 9:00 AM-10:00 AM
- 10:15 AM-11:15 AM
Afternoon Sessions (Oral and Poster):
- 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
- 2:15 PM-3:15 PM
- 3:30 PM-4:30 PM
Sessions will occur in MSC 2300 A-E (Bethancourt Ballrooms):
- Oral Sessions are concurrent in MSC 2300 A, B, D, and E
- Poster Sessions are in MSC 2300 C
The event is free and open to the public. Undergraduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to attend the LAUNCH URS Symposium to learn more about how to get involved in undergraduate research at Texas A&M University.
Students can earn 100 MaroonBase points for each presentation session they attend, with an opportunity to earn up to a maximum of 500 points. More information about MaroonBase— including instructions on how to join—can be found here.
